This is my first time renaming a user. The username was renamed
("sjones" to "smith").

When logged in to the webmail interface and accessing the calendar,
the calendar shows up, but is listed as "sjo...@company.com", instead
of "sm...@company.com".

The problem is this user normally uses Outlook, with that Google Sync
utility, and I created a new profile after I renamed the username, and
everything except for the calendar actually synced, and I suspect that
the old calendar name is the culprit.

Is there a way to fix this?

Hi Brett,

How long has it been since you did the rename? Often issues like
this will be resolved in 24-48 hours so time might still solve the
issue. Other than that, are you logged in and seeing the renamed
user's calendar wrong or is she logged in and seeing it wrong?
Screenshots might help also but in general, GAM just sends a command
to Google's servers to do the rename, it doesn't interact with the
various services. If the problem persists, you might need to contact
Google's phone support to get it resolved.

It's been about 12 hours, so I'll give it some more time to straighten
itself out! Thanks for the reply...

You will need to refresh the calendar name of the affected calendar, simply copy and paste the new email address into the calendar name (under settings) and save, this will pull down the new name of the user and it will then appear as the name of the calendar.

Hope this helps!

This is still an issue 4 years later. I gave a user simpler email address that belonged to a previous member of staff. Google Calendar only remembers to previous users firstname and surname, even though they are no longer on the system any where.. there is a GDPR issue here if the old users name is being stored in such a way that is uneditable or irremovable!?

How long did you wait before re-using the previous email address?
I mean, how long has the previous user been permanently deleted?
Was the deleted user's calendar shared with "manage sharing" to anyone? Because then it was never deleted when the user was.
