Gam verify step shows username instead of GAMConfig

I got a new Windows PC and have to reinstall everything. Anyway going through the steps to install GAMADV

I created the folders and make the changes in the Control Panel.

I run the verification step:

       C:\GAMADV-XTD3>gam config drive_dir C:\GAMWork verify

and the output shows this: C:\Users<UserName>.gam

I wiped everything out and followed all the steps and still get the same result with the path not showing the  C:\GAMConfig

What am I missing?

Scroll down to : Set system path and GAM configuration directory

Add save to this command
gam config drive_dir C:\GAMWork save verify

These are all in the C drive:

C:\>dir
 Volume in drive C has no label.
 Volume Serial Number is F8AE-BD07

 Directory of C:\

01/03/2023  04:18 PM    <DIR>          GAMADV-XTD3
01/03/2023  11:58 AM    <DIR>          GAMConfig
01/03/2023  11:58 AM    <DIR>          GAMWork

I double-checked the Control Panel and the GAMCFGDIR is set up in the System variables with  the value C:\GAMConfig

And that this C:\GAMADV-XTD3 is part of the System variable Path

I am still getting the same result with "save" added to the command:

C:\GAMADV-XTD3>gam config drive_dir C:\GAMWork save verify
Created: C:\Users\username\.gam
Created: C:\Users\ username\.gam\gamcache
Config File: C:\Users\ username\.gam\gam.cfg, Initialized
Config File: C:\Users\ username\.gam\gam.cfg, Saved

and the various lines in the output with username instead of GAMConfig

It seems the variable GAMCFGDIR is not being recognized:

C:\GAMADV-XTD3>dir %GAMCFGDIR%
 Volume in drive C has no label.
 Volume Serial Number is F8AE-BD07

 Directory of C:\GAMADV-XTD3

File Not Found

Terri,

After setting the environment variables and path, did you exit and restart command prompt so it sees the changes?

Hi Ross, I'm having the exact same problem as Terri.

I've tried to set up the GAMCFGDIR variable under System variables > Path. I'm not 100% sure I've done this step properly, but I can't get it recognised, and I'm getting the same outputs as Terri.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
