At my previous company I had access to the GAM Chat Space, how do I get my new account added to the space?

I joined the Google Group about 24 hours ago, but I'm still getting "Error loading space" when I try to open the link to the GAM Space.

Are you certain your Workspace account is allowed to join external Chat spaces? Have you tried with a gmail.com account?

Must be something up with my domain, I was able to join with my Gmail account. That will probably be better since it will follow me wherever I go!
