Delegate user access to a group

Hello,

Is it possible to delegate access to a group instead of a user via GAM.

Apps>Google Workspace>Settings for Gmail>User Settings

Mail delegation > Allow users to grant their mailbox access to a Google group

It should be possible with gam.

$> gam user some...@example.com add delegate some...@example.com

I have done this in the past.

That's odd.  It works perfectly for me.  Are you sure "googl...@test.cogeco.com" is a valid user.  Do you have privileges sufficient including service account access?

I'm seeing a similar issue.

New mailbox created in Google Workspace.

Tried to delegate access to a newly created group running 'gam user *** add delegate ***@*****"

Getting "Failed: Invalid Delegate"

Tried to delegate access to an existing group = same error.

Will wait to see if it's due to the mailbox being recently created, there could be a delay before group delegation can be set.

Just to add more findings:

Using gamadv:

- I am able to add group delegation to an existing mailbox

- I am able to add user delegation to an existing mailbox

- I am able to add user delegation to the new mailbox

- I am unable to add group delegation to the new mailbox

- Group delegation does work fine via web UI, however when running 'show delegates' nothing is returned.
