Parent switch folder to shared drive.

Hi all, 

question about Parent switching. 

why can i parent switch from a shared drive to my drive using update drivefile <fileid> parenid <mydriveid>

but not from my-drive to shared drive ? 

gam user <owner mail> update drivefile <Folder-ID-in-My-Drive> parentid <Shared-Drive-ID> Update Failed: Moving folders into shared drives is not supported.

or

gam user <owner mail> update drivefile <Folder-ID-in-My-Drive> teamdriveparentid <Shared-Drive-ID> Update Failed: Moving folders into shared drives is not supported.

Robert,

It's a limitation of the API; you can do it in the GUI but not in the API.

Hi Ross,

Just to confirm on a latest update for such case. As we have a case where a My Drive folder has 60000+ direct child folder at depth 0.
So currently to move from My Drive to Shared Drive (same organization), it is still not supported by API and the solution would either be using the 'move' command which the outcome would be new files & folders OR manually split the task by batch in Google Drive UI.
