Switch First and Last name

I need to switch values for first and last name for all users, emails should remain the same as it is now. 

Switching is needed because we need to sort users by lastname (school practice...)  I could do that manually, but that is more than 2000 manual copy/paste... 

Is it possible to accomplish that with GAM?

Something along the lines of the following should do what you need:

gam print users firstname lastname | gam csv - gam update user ~primaryEmail firstname ~name.familyName lastname ~name.givenName

This will update ALL accounts though, you might need to mess with some query in the print command to only do a subset of users.

This changes how name is written in Gmail inbox. It is useful, but I need to sort users by Lastname in Admin console/Users

Still don't see why this is necessary.

Any list you export from the system can be sorted by last name.

Any person you want to find in the console, can be searched by last name.

Why would anyone ever want to scroll through a list of users, instead of just searching for the one you are looking for?

You are right that it is not necessary.  Everything you said is correct. 

If you ask me why, iI would answer that It will be easier (and maybe even faster) for us if we could sort users it directly in admin console/ users without download users, sorting,...

Each class has its own organization. There are up to 30 pupils per class.  Usually, if users are sorted by last name I will spend less time to find someone in the of 30 names then searching those name in 3000 users.  

Pupils names in paper grade books (official documents we use in school) are sorted by last name. Everything (comparing, reset passwords,...)  will be easier if we have the same order in papers and in the admin console. 

I would like to see Sot by LastName implemented as option in GAFE in future. That would be the only correct solution for our needs.

Well, search only takes as long as typing the person's name in the search window.

No need to first click all the way to that specific class' OU and find the person in the visible list.

Quick comment here: You can also sort by email address at the top..  so if you were able to create the accounts as lastname.first_initial or something similar..  then you could sort by that, and find your users easier.

Thank you for your comment, 

Unfortunately our language is Cyrillic, and we are obligated to use pupils First name and Last name written in Serbian Cyrillic. 

For example My name  in Serbian is Јован Сандић, in latin it is Jovan Sandić so my email is created as following: jovan....@schoolname.edu.rs

Rules for sorting are different for Serbian Latin, English and Serbian Cyrillic, so we can't use emails for sorting :(
