Hello Everyone,
I have many groups that I use for exclusively for Shared Drive access. I have set these groups with the following settings and there members are sync'd using GCDS
includeInGlobalAddressList=false
whoCanViewGroup=ALL_MEMBERS_CAN_VIEW
whoCanViewMembership=ALL_MEMBERS_CAN_VIEW
Unfortunately these settings prevent someone viewing the membership of a group (when you hover over it in the Drive UI). This 100% makes sense as the Admin UI prevents you from configuring otherwise as well as GAM.
However, I have one group (created about 5 years ago) that has all of the exact same settings except for
whoCanViewMembership=ALL_IN_DOMAIN_CAN_VIEW
I for the life of me cannot figure out how I got that groups settings setup that way but the behavior of this group (when you hover over it in the Drive UI) will display the group members, which is what I would like to do.
I understand that I can set whoCanViewGroup which then allows me to set whoCanViewMembership but I don't want to do this as it exposes the groups existence and members to all users in the domain via the Groups App\All Groups. My end goal is to hide the group as much as possible yet keep membership visible.
Anyone have some thoughts?
Thanks!
Patrick
