Gams first run - Error 10061

So I ran Gam for the first time, following instructions from https://code.google.com/p/google-apps-manager/wiki/GAM3GettingStarted, I go past the Dito info and when I select the option to continue I get
"Error: [Errno 10061] No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it"

Can anyone help?

Ok so I fixed this by setting our proxy before running GAM.

May I suggest that this is added to the documentation as its not immediately obvious?
Better would be to add proxy support? :)
