Adding permissions to drive files for a user in bulk

Hi 

I'm trying to silently allow editor access to myself from files owned by different users but I'm running into issues.

This is the command I've tried running (tested with only one user, but ultimately I will do this as a bulk action via a csv file)

gam user <owner user email> add drivefileacl <file id> user <email to grant access> role writer

I'm getting a following error

User: <owner user email>, Drive File/Folder ID: <file id>, Permission ID: <email to grant access>, Add Failed: Internal Error. User message: "An internal error has occurred which prevented the sharing of these item(s): <file name>"
