I get the following error when trying to create the gam project. I'm not sure where to look for the fix:
Permissions related right? Is there a way I can specify where I want to create the project in the console? I think it's trying to create the project in the root of my company's domain in the console (by default). We have an IT specific folder with permissions to create projects.

What is the manual way to get this all set up? I seem to recall there being a long process to turn on permissions and set things in the past. Maybe that's the path I need to head down?

For the automated process to work, you have to be able to create projects at the organizational level. Create the project where you can and then update using gam use project=<projectid>
