gam update license

Hi!!

I'm having some trouble using GAM to update user licenses.

 For example:

# gam info user user@domain

..

Licenses: 

 Google-Apps-Unlimited (G Suite Business)

First, I tried to run the command below:

# gam user user@domain update license gsuitebasic from gsuitebusiness 

Changing user user@domain from license Google-Apps-For-Business (G Suite Basic) to Google-Apps-Unlimited (G Suite Business)

ERROR: 404: User does not have a license for specified sku and product - notFound

Then I tried this other command and gave another error: 

# gam user user@domain update license Google-Apps-For-Business from Google-Apps-Unlimited
Changing user user@domain from license Google-Apps-Unlimited (G Suite Business) to Google-Apps-For-Business (G Suite Basic)
ERROR: 500: For reassign operation new sku should be different than the old sku :Google-Apps-Unlimited - conditionNotMet

I appreciate any tip .

Use the "add" not "update"

Add new license not working too:

 # gam user user@domain add license gsuitebasic       
Adding license Google-Apps-For-Business (G Suite Basic) to user user@domain
ERROR: 412: User already has a license of the product, but with a different sku. To reassign to new sku, use update operation. - conditionNotMet

Update is not working: 

# gam user adal...@rio.jamef.com.br update license gsuitebasic from gsuitebusiness    
Changing user adal...@rio.jamef.com.br from license Google-Apps-Unlimited (G Suite Business) to Google-Apps-For-Business (G Suite Basic)

ERROR: 500: For reassign operation new sku should be different than the old sku :Google-Apps-Unlimited - conditionNotMet

And tried to delete the businnes license first too, without success: 

# gam user user@domain delete license gsuitebusiness       

Removing license Google-Apps-Unlimited (G Suite Business) from user user@domain
ERROR: 400: Combination of product and sku is invalid or the product has auto-assigned feature enabled - invalid

** Using gam-4.97

Example: gam user adal...@rio.jamef.com.br add license gsuitebusiness

You need "add" license, not update.

as I replied in the last two emails, using "add" also hadn’t worked. but I just discovered the problem - the basic licenses have run out (lol)

Do you have any G Suite Basic licences to apply?

If you have only paid for G Suite Business then you cannot assign a G Suite Basic licence
