I am the administrator of a Google Apps domain and am having some trouble accessing the administration page for Short Links.  When I'm logged into my admin account, the short links page give me the error that "With your current user account, you do not have permission to create short links."

I get the same mesage when I try to access the settings.py administration page.

Thank you for the help,
Phillip

Hi Philip,

Recent changes in the way the Google Apps Administration Console works have made it impossible to authenticate as an administrator for Short Links. We're aware of this problem and we're trying to fix it but I can't tell you when right now. Short Links is a Google Labs project so it does not come with any official support, but we are trying to fix this.

Thank you!
Danut

Any updates on the fix? I know this is a Lab project, but I'm hoping to convince my org to adopt the service to help us streamline things. Didn't want to pitch it until the Admin/Setup process was fixed.

Thanks for your help!
A Xoogler :)

Not yet, sorry. It's a bit of a more complicated issue than we imagined, and this being an unsupported Labs project doesn't help.

That's alright - I'm pulling for you! Totally get the unsupported Labs lack of resources. Appreciate your work, your help, and your response. Keep at it!

We are pulling for you Danut and your developers working on this issue. If Google were to pull metrics on this lab service, I'd think they'd find greater use and need than anticipated. If this lab service were to be decommissioned, the fallout from our clients would be huge with hundreds of broken links to business-related documentation no longer available that is disseminated constantly in social media marketing.

One correction is that if the lab service was installed prior, it is accessible from the admin console via this URL:
