Greetings developers -

I am pleased to announce that you can now download an archive of the
complete Google App Engine documentation, suitable for keeping on your
computer and reading while not connected to the Internet. You can get
the archive at the following URL:

http://googleappengine.googlecode.com/files/google-appengine-docs-20080816.zip

I am also pleased to announce that, except as noted on the policies
page, the Google App Engine documentation is now released under a
Creative Commons license, and sample code in the documentation is
released under an Apache license. For more information about the
licenses, see the policies page:

http://code.google.com/policies.html

These licenses permit you to re-distribute the documentation, and to
distribute derivative works. For example, you can translate the
documentation into another language, and distribute the translation.
You can also convert the documentation to a different format (such as
PDF), and distribute the new format.

Please let us know if you have any questions about the downloadable
documentation or the licenses.

Thanks!

I don't know exactly where to point out errors in the documentation,
but I found one and there are probably more. For example, on this page
(http://code.google.com/appengine/docs/webapp/utilmodule.html) It
gives the following import:

==> from google.appengine import webapp

but webapp is now located in google.appengine.ext, so it ought to be

==> from google.appengine.ext import webapp

Anyway, seems like I've run into a few issues that would easily be
cleared up by having user comments available on the documentation,
which editors could then incorporate.

Thanks for that.

The issue tracker is probably a good place to put these, as they can
be tracked there and not lost.

Hi,
 The correct place for this is the issue tracker, but I've submitted the doc fix for this, and it should be live shortly.
