Having trouble with appengine custom domain

I followed all the directions to map a custom domain. All the DNS records were added as specified and appear to be working insofar as they actually redirect. However the DNS records point to an ip address that goes to a random other website and NOT my appengine project. Any suggestions or ideas of how I can rectify this or things to look into?
