GAE Versioned Application Access Behind Identity Aware Proxy

I currently have an application written in Go that makes use of the Identity aware proxy for a federated G Suite Domain.

This works extremely well for production use but it would be helpful to test the applications using the 'versioned' URL before promoting this to the main application,

Is there any known way of doing this without manually typing this into the IAP or setting the new version to a predefined version name?

There is currently no way to turn Cloud Identity-Aware Proxy (IAP) on/off for individual App Engine versions. This would be a good feature to request on the Public Issue Tracker. 

- A workaround would be to deploy your new versions to a separate 'test' App Engine service first, and add that service's URL 'test-dot-projectId.appspot.com' to IAP.  Then simply make your new versions the default of the 'test' service, which will allow you to try out IAP on the new versions without deploying them to your main default service right away.
