TransformationError severely effecting our app's photo uploading capabilities

Hi, our app is severely effected by TransformationErrors that occur while resizing images that are uploaded.  If I'm not mistaken, this is an error that has nothing to do with improper use of the api.

They occur randomly, but often enough that most users report that about 20% of their photos fail to upload.  Yesterday it seemed to spike up to where a user complained that none of her uploads worked.

has gone unanswered for a while - could someone please look into this?  In the meantime, if anyone has had success working around these issues, I'd appreciate any pointers.  On person commented that simply retrying right away doesn't seem to work; perhaps I could defer to retry again after some delay, though it would hard to make that work for the user experience ("don't worry, your photos will probably be uploaded eventually!").
