Hi,

I'm trying to deploy a new version of my app to Google App Engine but I noticed in the Compute-> App Engine -> Dashboard a warning message saying "Your app is currently disabled or pending deletion".
I was wondering if it was possible to re-enable the application and not have it deleted ? What are the steps to do that ?
I tried to disable and re enable billing for it to no avail.
I tried to deploy a new version of my app it but no new instances are being created and the appcfg.sh is stuck on :

90% Deploying new version.
95% Will check again in 1 seconds.
98% Will check again in 2 seconds.
99% Will check again in 4 seconds.

99% Will check again in 60 seconds.

Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks

Hi Jean!

So, if your app is currently disabled or pending deletion, it's normal that deploying doesn't work, since there is no app to deploy to.

To restore your project, you should go to your developer console. From there, you will see a list of all your projects. Under the list there should be a link called "project pending deletion" which is where your deleted project should be, and from there you can select it and restore it.

Let me know if this works for you.

Cheers!

Hi Patrice,

See attached screenshots, the link "project pending deletion" doesn't seem to appear on my side under the list of projects. Am I going to the right place or missing something ?

Thanks in advance

You are indeed in the right place. There is another possibility to what's happening here: the older Admin Console had a feature to "disable" an app without deleting it.

If that is the case, going to the Admin Console, you should see that the app is marked as "Disabled by developer". If you see that with the application we've been discussing, you should go on it (click on its name) then go to "Application Settings" under "Administration". On that page you should be able to see a link called "Managed disabled status". From that link you will be able to re-enable the application.

Cheers!

Hi Jean,

The only other possibility I can think of then is that your application was using the now-deprecated Master Slave datastore. If this is the case for the application here, then the solution would be to fill in this form so that we can look into your issue.

Let me know if your application was indeed using that version of the datastore, since if that is what happened there, the form I linked is the proper way to get further help.

Cheers! And hopefully, third time's the charm :).

The third time was a charm. I had to migrate the app and that worked ;)

Thanks a lot for the help and fast turnaround Patrice !

Very welcome Jean, Always glad to be of help :).

I am happy that in the end, we exposed more than one way to re-enable as well, like that other users with similar issues can come to this thread for a summary of all that can be done to help them.

Glad that I got you up and running,

Have a great weekend :)
