I deployed the Hello World application for Java 8 without any issues. Since this is a potential defect on the platform, it would be most appropriate to file a report on the public issue tracker so that proper attention will be given to it.
When filing a new issue on the tracker, please link back to this thread so others in the community can also see the updates.
