Well, consider what kind of in-house lawyers they have. Looking into
the user agreement carefully, I bet you can find pretty much 'we can
do whatever we like, especially it is a three year long preview
period'.

Well, I am not an expert on these matters, but more than any loss in the lawsuit, the brand being damaged will be a bigger headache for Google.

Legal fights are lose-lose (except for the lawyers, lol). A lot of friction, and waste of energy that even the so-called 'winner' should better have spent on other things. It's a game for grown-ups that haven't matured yet. ;-)
