App Engine service account has insufficient permissions for project

When I try to deploy a Managed VM I get this error:

App Engine service account has insufficient permissions for project

Any suggestions on what to look at to fix this?

Hi Robert. 

How do you deploy? Chances are that you can change which email you're currently authenticated as with the tool, depending on what tool you use for upload.

I am uploading with Eclipse (Java) and am logged in as a project owner. I did try uploading with a different owner account on the project and got exactly the same error. 

The strange thing is, it works just fine when uploading as sandboxed app. 

Can you check our project (parasql-app) to see if anything looks obviously wrong?

I got the answer to this from someone on Stack Overflow.... re-posting it here in case it helps someone.

Basically, in permissions, my account was missing the App Engine service account your-pr...@appspot.gserviceaccount.com
This happened to someone else too.
