Region of Static IP

I can't choose my VM when I want to change my external static IP option, is that both Static IP and my VM need to be in the same region? Is it possible to assign a static IP from a VM in a different region? Many Thanks!

Hi,
There are two type of external IP addresses that you can reserve:
1. A regional IP address
2. A global IP address
The regional IP addresses can be used for VM instances, but global IP addresses are used for Load Balancers.
The static external IP address that you want to assign to the VM instance needs to be in the same region. You cannot assign a static IP address to a VM instance that is not in the same region.
