Yes, but there is (or at least was) an issue with it. The channel js
will be loaded over http.

I have not tested to see if this bug still exists, but you can
directly include the channel js in your app as mentioned in the bug.
Last time I tested it was making the backend calls correctly -- using
the same protocol as the request.
