Dear forum members,

i have registered successfully a domain to my account. Now i want an subdomain like "api.mydomain.com" for appengine. I have configured
all entries as on the list in the configuration. But it doesn't work, no ping reach this domain.
I am very thankful for letting me know how i can use this subdomain under my registered one.

Thank you very much for taking your time,
Daniel

Hello Daniel,

This article describes the steps that are required to add, verify and map a custom domain to your  App Engine app. In this case, make sure that "api.mydomain.com" is mapped to your GAE app and you've created a CNAME on your domain registrar DNS records pointing to "ghs.googlehosted.com".

You can use G Suite Toobox Dig to lookup and verify that "api.mydomain.com" CNAME record is properly configured and points to "ghs.googlehosted.com

I hope this helps.

Dear Kamran,

the output after setting up the domain doesn't show that you should use "ghs.googlehosted.com." please note the trailing dot. I found it in the support pages too:

Thank you very much,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

You will need to point and map "api.mydomain.com" to your App Engine app, so the CNAME type would be listed under custom domains settings. See this screenshot that  www is used for mapping instead api as an alias.
