Is it possible to get cloud storage data back after accidental deletion?

Google, is it possible to recover lost cloud files please?

Only deleted this evening by a quirk of fate... ran a task that should not have been run.

All the data is image data, so before I write some code to stub the lost images with a template image I'd like to know if it is at all possible to recover them?

It's kind of urgent.

This may be possible. We perform our own intensive backups to prevent data loss due to natural unforeseen occurrences (NOTE: this may not defend against actual DELETEs), but you may need a support package to dive into this deeper. 

In the meantime I recommend reporting this in a Public Issue Tracker to have engineering take a look. Ensure you provide your project ID and full details about the Google Cloud Storage buckets and objects that all need recovering.

Jordan, thanks for the reply. I have as suggested created an issue, I don't think I can run to 150 dollars a month for support though :)

Can you have a short term support contract for individual issues such as these, that would be ok for me.

Lastly any idea how long this stuff takes? My website is down until I resolve the issue.

I deleted data via a task that was accidently fired, does that then mean the data is irretrievable? What happens to the intensive backup data that was mentioned?

To clarify, our backups are simply to protect against unforeseen natural occurrences like power outages etc, where there was no actual 'DELETE' operation sent. In your case you did request to have your data to be deleted. We do Not protect your data against what You choose to do with it. 

Therefore it is highly recommended to perform your Own backups to protect it against accidental deletions performed by you. The Public Issue Tracker you opened is to simply inquire with engineering to see if there is any possible way to get your data back that is outside of my knowledge.
