We are using appengine with java7. Sometimes we see warmup request takes more than 7-8 seconds. While debugging we have found out there is a significant amount of delay (~3-4 seconds) between request received by appengine frontend (as per google console) and our application.
Any reason why this happens?

As it may potentially qualify as a defect report and may require exchange of project information, I recommend opening an issue tracker so that proper weight and attention be given to it. Please feel free to update this thread once a resolution has been reached.

Hi,
When deploying using Java 7, the initial spin up time for a new instance is 2.6 s, whereas for Java 8 is even worst, 5.8 s.

As mentioned in the referenced issue, work is in progress for reducing this 5.8 s for Java 8, together with all other possible instance spin-up times.
