Since GAE Devserver is (for I know) is Jetty, would it be possible to modify it's launch parameters to be able to run XRebel? http://manuals.zeroturnaround.com/xrebel/install/index.html#jettycli

XRebel is a very valuable tool to monitor, profile and debug apps--so I might be really good to be able to run it on GAE, however it seems there's no easy way around it,
Any comments?

It's hard to say for sure since we do not have visibility on the 3rd-party XRebel. It's worth looking into Stackdriver - monitoring, logging, and diagnostics tool which is natively integrated with Google Cloud Platform.
