I'm with the same issue. I cannot even deploy an application.

But the front-end works fine...

I have the same problem. I cannot even deploy an application, but the application already uploaded works fine.

Hi,

Same problem to my application. But I also noticed a high latency to my requests (some of them fails).
Screenshot below!

*I tried in Firefox, Google Chrome on Ubuntu and Windows XP SP2.

Hi Christina,

I am still having problems at deploying a new version of may application:
It gets stuck at precompilation:

        Cloned 3300 files.
Cloned 3400 files.
Cloned 3500 files.
Cloned 3600 files.
Cloned 3700 files.
Cloned 3800 files.

Deploying:
Uploading 0 files.
Initializing precompilation...

I deployed some versions today with success before this issue.

Hi Alexandru,

You are lucky to be able to deploy new versions...  my application still does not want to update, it is stuck at "Initializing precompilation..."

Let's hope this gets fixed soon, so that I can get some work done today ;-)

My app users report seeing over_quota error page, but my app is well within limits and admin dashboard doest not report any quota denials.

Yes, I tried to deploy a new version and it appears to get stuck at the same step.

But, more important I have a strange behaviour. I updated some entities and now the same query is returning them in only ~15% of cases.
For example - for query "Give me all contacts" I get in 15% of cases te correct result and the entities without the updated ones in the rest.
This is the first time I see this behaviour and no updates were made on the default version!

Hi Christina,

I can't access any of my versions ... I receive many 500 errors. In logs I receive this Warning:
A problem was encountered with the process that handled this request, causing it to exit. This is likely to cause a new process to be used for the next request to your application. (Error code 121)

Maybe this will help you in fixing this issues.

+1.

Seeing a massive spike in latency on my end. Servlets that normally handle requests in 0.5 seconds are taking 4+ seconds to complete. Instance startup times are up 30%.

Even system status page returns below errors....

Error: Server Error
The server encountered an error and could not complete your request.
If the problem persists, please report your problem and mention this error message and the query that caused it.

This is causing my instances to fail to start within 60 seconds. I currentyl have zero instances, and every attempt to start a new one fails.

We are currently experiencing an issue with Google App Engine and some applications are experiencing elevated latency levels and error rates. For everyone who is affected, we apologize - we know you count on Google to work for you and we're working hard to restore normal operation. We will provide an update by 11 AM PST with current details, and if available an estimated time for resolution.

We are still working to resolve the issue related to Google App Engine serving. At this point error error rates for affected applications should be declining. We will provide another status update by 11:30 AM PST.

My app is totally down.  I have been complaining about my response times getting worse and worse on this thread, https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/google-appengine/cJcOrOE4JDc and also in a bug I created.  Why is it Google doesn't listen, until it is too late?

Also for the love of everything good - please update the App Engine Status page to reflect real life.  For me, for the past few weeks App Engine has been unstable.

The issue with Google App Engine should be resolved as of 12:06 PM PST. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support. Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better. We will provide a more detailed analysis of this incident once we have completed our internal investigation.

Mark,

Your application should be functioning correctly.  Let me know if this isn't the case.  Also, I'm assuming that this is app ID: bedbuzzserver.

IMO it takes to much time between failures being reported here or on issue tracker and an official warning message on downtime-notify group.

It is bad when we're getting reports from users and don't already know if this is widespread issue that google is working on, or just our app being faulty.

We should know beforehand that maybe we should take a look, monitor our app closely, and prepare for user complaints. I'd rather put a "we're sorry, server is down, come back later" static page on the site, than have users struggle with every other request.

Regards. Janusz.

Hi Chris

No my application is still not functioning correctly.  Yes, my ID is bedbuzzserver.  I have attached a screenshot of my latest log console (as of 1.06PM).  As you can see, almost every request has either:
This request caused a new process to be started for your application, and thus caused your application code to be loaded for the first time.
Request was aborted after waiting too long to attempt to service your request.
A problem was encountered with the process that handled this request, causing it to exit.

I haven't uploaded new code in months, and this used to be working fine.

We're also still experiencing problems. Latency has increased by about 30% : from 850ms "pre incident" per Pingdom to roughly 1100ms currently.

We're getting some errors in the logs (not as many as during the incident fortunately, and not as many as Mark), but we're also getting reports from users about errors which we cannot find in the logfiles. It's hard to estimate how many of those there are, since GAE doesn't seem to log to the logfile when it's serving our static error-html.

App ID is "small-improvements-hrd", a Java application on HRD.

Cheers,
Per
