Is there a way to find out the cost for restoring the backup ?

The cost of the restore mostly depends on the number of entities in the backup (and the selected kinds) and the state of the existing application datastore data.

For every restored entity there would be either a "New Entity Put" cost or an "Existing Entity Put" cost. See https://developers.google.com/appengine/docs/billing for more info.

Also, there would be a charge for the instance hours that were used to process the restore.
