XGBoostError: Invalid Parameter format for seed expect int but value='0' App Engine

I am trying to run xgboost on Google App Engine in python and get the following error when I call train :

XGBoostError: Invalid Parameter format for seed expect int but value='0'

I am unable to find the origins in the xgboost source.
