Go runtime 1.11 memory and CPU comsumptions are very high

Hi All,

Recently we migrated from Go 1.9 to Go 1.11. Since Google didn't give a lot of time to refactor the code, we made minimum changes to the code. We use `appengine.Main()`.

We observed that the memory usage and CPU go up a lot (at least doubled) since the migration.

Wondering if anyone has similar experience and if there is some quick solution.
