Hi,

I am trying to understand the costs per request point (unit) for the YouTube API. I do not see any documentation.
From what I understand there is a courtesy (free tier) limit of 50,000,000 units/day per day.
It is possible to request more but it is also possible to pay for more by enabling billing.

What is the cost per 1000 units ? does anyone know? Is the YouTube API even billable and open
for larger use?

I have used the quota calculator to understand the amount of points my application would use ( see  https://developers.google.com/youtube/v3/determine_quota_cost )
But I do not understand how this translates to dollar cost.

Anyone have experience with such calculations ?

Thanks.

The Get Help section of https://developers.google.com/youtube/v3/ has links to areas for questions about use of the YouTube API.

I'm also wondering about the cost of the service, and I can't decide until I see how much, for example 1000 requests cost.

As mentioned originally, you should probably check the servers's api docs/help pages, as the costs aren't going to be specific to this library and we wouldn't want to provide wrong info. The docs for the apis and/or the developer console for enabling apis would be where you are more likely to find information about quotas and costs.

Thanks for the response.

Google provides an excellent Youtube quota calculator. The problem is that returns the value in points (like "100 points" for a search) but nowhere in the docs you can translate that into any currency.

Again, please use their api specific help pages if you can't find the info.  Since this list/client library covers 100+ apis, we don't know the specific details like that, and we won't want to provide wrong answers.

Thanks, but nothing there.

So, I will post the exact request, so nobody can say they don´t know what is this.

for example. This is as clear as a question can be, for an API provider.

I'm not sure what you are talking about for the nothing there.

As mentioned back in 2014, https://developers.google.com/youtube/v3/ is the place to check.  It appears to have links/sections for "SUPPORT" and "SEND FEEDBACK", the footer also as "Terms of Service" & "Monetization Guidelines".  That is going to be the proper place to start looking/asking for getting specific information to an API (YouTube in this case).  This list covers the ObjC client library that supports 100+ apis, so it isn't the right place for specific details like you are asking.
