My reports are not running. The "Report Status" box is just blank. I have cleared my cache etc and still doesnt work. I tried creating a new report too to see if its a problem with the existing reports but when I create a new report, this message comes up "No item with the given ID could be found, or you do not have permission to access it."

Anyone have this problem and know how to resolve it?

I am having the same issue. Creating a new report is also not working except I don't even get the wizard. I always start with the wizard for the first request and then manually create the rest.

I have the same issue. Never seen it before. I hope this gets fixed quickly.

I have had this same problem since Friday.

I'm also seeing the same exact behavior. When I go to refresh reports, the report status screen stays blank and does not error out, but just stays resident constantly until I close. Also, the report creation wizard never loads. This is a serious problem for our team productivity.

Like others on this thread, I've also cleared my cache and history.

Hey all, sorry to hear about this problem. I've pinged the add-ons team to see if they have any ideas since I can't reproduce the issue myself. The GA add-on has not been updated in a few months, so whatever broke wasn't a result of a code change, which means unfortunately I don't think there's anything I can do to fix it.

My guess is some new change has been rolled out to a subset of users, and that change is causing the problem. I'll see if I can get them to roll it back.

In the meantime if folks can let me know more details, that'll probably be helpful. Is anyone seeing any JavaScript errors in the console when trying to run or create reports?

Hi Philip and everyone,
I'm having the same problem. Here are the details for me:

The Create New Report sidebar and Run Reports popup box appear, but are blank except for their title (Create a new report/Report Status) and the X-to-close.

The console error message in both cases is the same:
dropping postMessage.. was from unexpected window

Thanks for looking into this!

Try disabling all your chrome extensions and rerunning the Google Analytics Sheets Add-on. I heard from someone that this solved their problem.

Best,

I've confirmed, at least for me, this is also the case--the Add-On worked when I disabled ALL of my Chrome Extensions. I thought, at first, disabling only the extensions associated with Drive and Docs might do it, but that wasn't the case. You need to disable ALL extensions. I hope Google fixes it soon.

FWIW, I'm used Google for OS X, Version 56.0.2924.76 (64-bit). Please let me know if you need additional details.

I am having this same issue, though my reports still run when they are automatically scheduled to. I just can't update them manually.

I also tried on Firefox for OS X, 51.0.1 (64-bit). The GA Add-On works in that environment without having to close all Add-Ons. Thanks!

Am also able to confirm this is happening on my end.  Have disabled all extensions but still seeing the error.  Tested under a different google account and was able to successfully use the add-on.  Configuration for the two are nearly identical except for one being personal and another being a business account.

For those of you who were able to get it working by disabling extensions, can you try to isolate which extension was causing the problem?

After toggling everything I could, I was able to get it working and continue my daily work regiment.  It was only when I reactivated my LastPass, did I notice the error happening once again.

It looks like a few other add-ons have also reported issues with the LastPass extension.

Is anyone on this thread having this problem and not using LastPass?

I just disabled the LastPass extension and the add-on started working again.

I upgraded to the latest version of Chrome and that did the trick for me.

Sam, I also made the update yesterday but still encountered the issue.  Are you able to confirm LastPass is still active as a plugin on your browser?

Yep it's still active. Funnily enough I disabled all my other extensions, except LastPass!
Haven't turned any others back on but will do so now and let you know if it stops working again.

Same here. It was Last Pass. Believe they just came out with an update that might be conflicting here.

Seems to be working today. I also had LastPass and isolated it as the cause. Was there an update that fixed it?

Thanks,

Is there any progress on this issue please? Thanks!

Did you try the above suggestions yet? That is:

  • Disable the LastPass extension (if you have it), refresh the sheet and try again. If it works, LastPass is the problem. This was the case for most of us.
  • Update Chrome; this worked for me and I can use the add-on with LastPass still active.
