Hi there,

Does anybody know if it is possible to compare data for the following?

  • Month-to-date vs previous year same period
  • Year-to-date vs previous year same period
  • Month-to-date vs previous month same period

Currently i can only get it to look at a whole month or year vs previous year but this isnt very useful when reporting on a weekly basis

if anyone could help, that would be great,

thanks,

Hi
Not sure if that's what you want but if it can help :

Formula for Month-to-date :
Start Date : =eomonth(today();-1)+1
End Date : =today()-1

Formula Year-to-date :
Start Date : =DATE(YEAR(TODAY());1;1)
End Date : =today()-1

=> For previous year, use "-364" in the cell refering to the one with the current year

=> For previous month same period,
Start Date = use "-364"
End Date : =eomonth(today();-12)

Thanks for this - very helpful. I am just stuck on the year-to-date vs previous year one (in yellow)

Attached is a screenshot of what i have so far.

For Start Date; The formula I have is =eomonth(today(),-22)+1
For End Date; he formula i have is =today()-366

i dont think these would stay accurate as time progresses though as it wont always be 22 months back in time

Also for month-to-date vs previous month End date i used =today()-31 but again i guess some months will be less than 31 days so any help would be great

Thanks

Hi

If what you want is to have in cell E4 the same date as in D4 but for the previous year, you just have to use this formula "=D4-365"
Same thing in E5 => "=D5-365"

For previous month End date, use "=eomonth(today(),-1)"

Is that what you needed ?
