Hi!

I am trying to pull a report using two different filters together.

This filter, by itself, works fine: ga:eventCategory==Community interactions
This filter, by itself, also works fine: ga:eventAction==Add post

Apparently the syntax requires to join both filters with a +, but the following doesn't work:
ga:eventCategory==Community interactions+ga:eventAction==Add post

Can you please let me know how to use two filters simultaneously?

Thanks!

I don't know where you read that filters needed to be combined with a plus sign (+), but that's not correct.

You combine AND filters with a semicolon (;) and OR filters with a comma (,)

Hi - Trying to do something similar, except I had the correct semicolon to combine multiple dimensions....it's simply not working.

So I'm trying to put criteria in to exclude certain page names from an aggregate pageview number...seeing that "pagename" is not actually a dimension I can filter on, I was able (through serious trial and error alone) to do so by using the pathPageLevel1 dimension........only problem is I am only able to use one set of criteria. Here is what I have so far:

ga:pagePathLevel1!@/skava;
ga:pagePathLevel1!@/form

Both of these are asking to exclude all pages that have the string "/skava" and the string "/form".....the first is working when used alone, but the moment I add the semi colon to combine the two sets of criteria, the report is returning the following error:

1 report failed due to errors

  • Invalid value 'ga:pagePathLevel1!@/skava; ga:pagePathLevel1!@error' for filters parameter.
Can someone help?

So sorry - I fixed it....apparently a space after the semicolon was the culprit.....Thanks Philip Watson for answering someone else's similar inquiry - I should have read further before I posted!! ;) (that semicolon should work as expected)
