In realtime, compare up to 30 sites at once, graphs included. Tell me what you think.

Thanks,

Wow, this is awesome.

Great work.

Been looking for something like this for an age.

Does it remember me when I come back or do I need to setup all my profiles/sites again?

Very nice.  It would be good if you could also show cumulative spark lines too (so you could watch the total traffic build up over a day or so).

Thanks!

I did get the initial limit raised by the Google Team, but I will certainly need it raised in the future if more users join in.

Hey, nice work. I was wondering how you deal with the quota limits? Surely if a small amount of people access this each day and leave it running for the day your quota limit will be reached very quickly.

I've not been able to use http://www.bckmn.com/stark-lines since thursday dec 12.
It worked perfect earlier. But on all browsers I now see a 404 for this request issued by starkLines.min.js:

Best,
Martin

All should be fixed now. Something got left out of the last code push. Thanks for noticing!

Thanks for the great Service.

I downloaded my JSON file earlier, I then rebooted my laptop and went back to the site, I dragged the previously saved JSON file into the website but it gives me this error

Did I do something wrong?

One other user has contacted me about the same error message (he is using Chrome Canary on Ubuntu). I have not been able to replicate it. That message is only displayed if the file being read is not of type ‘application/json’, which is required to configure the dashboard. To generate the file upon download from the application, the script sets the file type to match exactly. It seems a couple things could be happening:
- The browser is incorrectly saving the file type when downloading.
- Some modification is happening to the file during the process of download/storage/upload.

Could you send me a copy of the file so I can inspect it?
Here’s the upload function, if you (or anyone) wants to take a look and triple check. According to my research, if the browser supports blob/file download, it should have the same support for file upload/parsing.

Thanks,
-J

Thanks for this, it's very close to what I am trying to build with the API and a good  example.

Is there anyway to get a "Total" and corresponding graph?

There is not a way to get a total visitor count for all of the selected sites, yet. I could build it, and had actually planned on it at one point but other visitors discouraged me. It would be as simple as summarizing all of the site totals and graphing the display. How would you want to see it? Beneath the current graph? In the same graph?

I released a new redesign/version of Stark Lines last night: http://starklin.es
Now, you can see all of your chosen sites stacked into a total, and a few other bugs have been fixed. Drag and drop of profile configuration files is still there, as well as the most popular page, etc.

Would you still like to see a “Total” count somewhere on the page?

As always, let me know your thoughts.

Wow!!!

It looks very nice! Congratulations!

My thoughts?

I see a lot of blank space under the graph, so... what if I could decide how many top pages I want to list (5 instead of 1)? And... what if I could apply a filter to that top pages list? Because, in my case, the homepage will be always the top 1, followed by /page/2... I'd really like to see the top articles, using a regex: ^/[0-9]+/[^/]+/(\?[^/]+)*$ in my case.

Again, thank you very much for this work!

Thanks Josh,

New version looks great. I tried to use my previously save file in the new version and it didn't work.

So I thought the new version might be incompatible.

I then setup it again and saved/downloaded the file. I then restarted and tried to drag the file again but it didn't work.

I remember we had a similar issue way back at the start with Chrome on Windows computers.

Happy to help test/debug.
