On behalf of the Google Analytics team, I’d like to announce the following updates to the Google Analytics Data API v1alpha:

  • Added support for retrieving data from the Conversion performance report using the runReport method. This lets you access the same conversion data available in the Google Analytics UI under Advertising > Conversion performance.

    • Added the ConversionSpec field to RunReportRequest, which allows filtering conversions using conversionActions (conversion action IDs) and selecting an AttributionModel (DATA_DRIVEN or LAST_CLICK).

    • Added the Section field to ResponseMetaData to identify whether the data in the report is from standard reporting (SECTION_REPORT) or conversion reporting (SECTION_ADVERTISING).

  • Updated the getMetadata method to provide information for conversion reporting.

    • Added the conversions field to the response, which returns a list of ConversionMetadata objects mapping conversion action IDs to display names.

    • Added the sections field to DimensionMetadata and MetricMetadata to identify whether a specific field is compatible with standard reporting, conversion reporting, or both.

This feature may not be available to your Google Analytics property. The Google Analytics team is actively working to expand this feature to more properties. Please reach out to your support team if you have questions about the eligibility of your property.
