Hi,

I am using Google Analytics for my client who manages 4 webshops, each in 3 different countries on at least 12 different domains and wants to see aggregate data for all of the domains and all of the locations.

We have decided to work with GTM from now on, so I try to make up a strategy that is logical and not too technical, so that non-IT people can understand as well. Please add some suggestions or -even better- help us where we run into issues. I have [highlighted] the parts where I am not very sure, or when I run into issues.

1) Create a Container : 'Webshops XYZ'
2) Create a Tag: '
Tagname: General Universal Analytics Tag'
Tagtype: Universal Analytics (béta)
Tracking - ID: Copy and paste this from your Analytics account. If you haven't done so yet, follow the instructions below at ***
Tracking Type: Choose 'More Options' > 'Cross domain Tracking'  > Link domains automatically : [list here all the domains you want to receive data on in this format: test.com, test.be, test.fr, test.nl, test.de, test.co.uk]

Use #: [no idea whether to pick 'true' or 'false]
3) Create a Rule:
Rule name: All pages
Condition: {{url}} is equal to .*

4)  Place the GTM tag on all pages of all of your websites [I suppose that the GTM tag needs to be altered for 'allow_linker', but it is very unclear on the site where and how to do this]
5)  Publish

**** Setup of your Analytics account
a) Create an account
Account name: Webshops XYZ
b) Create a property
Property name: Webshop XYZ : All sites
Default URL: [you don't have to put anything here]

 c) Create a view:
Name: Master View : All Sites
Include a filter:
Filter Setting:

Filter Type : Custom filter > Advanced
Field A : Hostname Extract A : (.*)
Field B : Request URI
Extract B : (.*)
Output To : Request URI
Constructor : $A1$B1"
