I believe the TOS for the various search APIs require you to display results to an end user. In addition, the best way to get an estimated result count with the Web and other. Search APIs is estimatedResultCount, but it is notoriously unreliable. There is a totalResults property in the CSAPI response, but there are additional drawbaks with that API.
