Excluding sites that contain a specified string from an image search using the Custom Search API

Is it possible to return a set of images from Google's Custom Search API that don't contain specified words?

I know this is possible on word searches (i.e. if you place "-" in front of a word on a google search, it will return all results that don't contain the word directly after the "-" symbol). But is it possible for images

Ive noticed that there is a excludeTerms parameter explained here: https://developers.google.com/custom-search/json-api/v1/reference/cse/list

Is this also applicable to image searches?
