work for a very long time.
Id like to disable the google video results but keep the youtube ones.
Do you know how to do it?

here is my code
this.video = new GvideoSearch();
this.ctrl.addSearcher(this.video, searcherOptions);
this.ctrl.setSearchCompleteCallback(this, ready_video);

Hi,

In my experience Google modifies your query to include both results
and I really wish there was a way to specify this instead of having
Google force it on you.

The queries Google generates for me is

http://video.google.com/videosearch?source=uds&type=search&q=google+%28site%3Avideo.google.com+OR+site%3Ayoutube.com%29&hl=en&start=0

"site:video.google.com+OR+site:youtube.com"

So you most likely will have to build your own controls for this using
the feeds Gdata from YouTube instead or something

http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/base/videos?q=google&client=ytapi-youtube-search&alt=rss&v=2

(You should be able to build a feed app to do this)

Or, just try the YouTube API instead

http://code.google.com/apis/youtube/overview.html

Cheers!

Hi Matthieu,

Can you provide a little more detail on what you mean? I'm not sure
what you mean by they "don't work". Try going tho this Playground
example:
http://code.google.com/apis/ajax/playground/#youtube_channels

Now, in the bottom part of the window, remove this text
"ytchannel:NBA" and type in "dog". The fourth result (title: Two
Legged Dog) is a Google Video video. As you can see, the preview is
there, and the link correctly links to the video at Google Video.

Please let us know what's not working for you and we'll try to help
you fix the problem.

Thanks,
Adam

Hi thks for your replies!

what I meant by they "dont work", is yes they do work but after 2
weeks for example, the link is dead so the video is not playing
anymore, it also happens with youtube videos but its still rare.

thats why I want to disable the google videos!

I might try Jinx's solutuion then!

Hmm, links shouldn't be dying after a couple weeks. Can you give me
an example of a specific search that results in a "dead" video? If
not, can you at least send a link to a video that doesn't play any
more? Any extra info you can provide on this would be helpful.

I appreciate you helping us track down this problem, even though
you're planning on still using Jinx's solution.

Thanks,
Adam

Hi Matthieu,

Sorry for the delayed response. I see the problem you reported, and
we're looking into it. In the mean time, I hope Vision Jinx's
solution works for you.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Hi Matthieu,

I've looked into this, and I believe the problem is fixed. Nothing
can be done for the old links that you included before, but if you
query the API, the links you get back should be to valid videos now.
For instance, a search for "James Bond mozinor", which I believe
triggers your video as the second link, returns this playUrl:
http://video.google.com/s/zizJPyf32zs/googleplayer.swf?videoUrl=http://v21.lscache6.googlevideo.com/videoplayback%3Fid%3D140fb38ea825b4e7%26itag%3D5%26begin%3D0%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1252452869%26sparams%3Dip,ipbits,expire,id,itag%26signature%3D4D4AAD4CEBF67A64ABB313338BBF7909649BFE0E.7DB18B519EDC9FEAE075342C3C4E8E91AE94E7E8%26key%3Dck1&thumbnailUrl=http://3.gvt0.com/ThumbnailServer2%3Fapp%3Dvss%26contentid%3D140fb38ea825b4e7%26offsetms%3D30000%26itag%3Dw160%26hl%3Den%26sigh%3DamE5NaURwp6ZGzewLDKNZUNJ9fg&docid=4521094805763618375&hl=en&q=James+Bond+mozinor+(site:video.google.com+OR+site:youtube.com)&source=uds&playerMode=simple&autoPlay=true

Once you decode the URL, it should take you to the video.

Please do take a look, and let me know if you can perform any searches
(including the query you used) which result in a bad playUrl link.

Thanks!
Adam
