I'm really new to admob. I have seen other threads on other forums where people have asked this question and there was an easy way to enable / disable test ads through a button. Well all of those threads are old now and were a guide for the old admob. Is there a setting in the new admob where I can easily do this? (I'm not an experienced developer and have only have been developing some basic iOS apps for a few days so I can't do some really techy stuff in the code)

Thanks.

Test ads are always available when setting a Ad Unit ID in new AdMob. Read here. You can have it always shown up in emulator or your own device. With this settings, the users won't see test ads. Only the designated devices will see. So no worries.

Best,

Kunal

Oh, I understand so test ads ALWAYS display on the simulator? Because that's what I've been testing it all in.

The testing flag can only be set through code. If you've grabbed one of the sample apps you might see some code like:

request.testDevices = @[
 GAD_SIMULATOR_ID
];

This is what makes the simulator serve test ads. For devices, you'll need to check the logs once you run the app, and the log will tell you what string to put into this array to get test ads on that particular device. There is no way to turn test mode on/off for all devices. It's a whitelist only feature.

Thanks,
Eric

Ok, well this is the "test" strip I'm seeing in the iOS Simulator. I really am not a developer. http://imgur.com/afjULwb.png

Yes. This is the correct test banner ad as it says " This is a test ad".
