Hi,

I'm trying to add ads with admob to an existing app. I've set up everything in the admob panel and implemented all the code, but when I request test ads on my test device, I always get the "code 3, no fill" message. The funny thing is that if I use my ad-IDs or the test ad-IDs provided by Google in a newly created test app that is not already published, all the test ads are showing just fine. I'd expect to always get fill for test ads no matter what. What am I missing here?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us. Usually, Error code: 3 is experienced when there is no Ad returned from the Ad server. Could you provide us your Ad Unit ID so we can take a look on our end? Also, can you confirm if you're adding any Targeting to your apps? If you could provide these details, I will be able to assist you further.

Regards,

Hello Bharani,

Thank you for your response. The ad-IDs are as follows:
  • Banner: ca-app-pub-9770647787311547/1600158149
  • Interstitial: ca-app-pub-9770647787311547/5315084015
  • Reward Video: ca-app-pub-9770647787311547/2111515808
Concerning the targeting: do you mean targeting of the app towards children/families? If so, then yes the app is in the "Designed for families" program and primarily targeted towards children, but that targeting has been taken into account regarding this guidelines: https://developers.google.com/admob/android/targeting

Thanks in advance for your time.

Hello,

Thank you for providing the details. I was able to load ads with all your Ad Unit IDs using our sample apps on an Android device. From my understanding, since your apps are enrolled for "Designed For Families" program, they constitute a smaller portion of the regular ads stack. This may limit the ads returned from the ad inventory. As we handle only technical SDK related queries, you will have to reach out to the AdMob Product Support Team to get this resolved.
