hello!
Our team is currently using iOS googlemobileadsios-spm-11.2.0.zip.

Recently, we have been receiving user complaints about accidentally clicking on ads.

We don't have a detailed reproduction steps, but most users say that while scrolling, a specific ad is clicked and takes them to Safari.

Even though it's hard to reproduce and the problem description is very vague, I was hoping you could help me with this issue.

Also, I was wondering if this issue has been shared before.

Hi,

Please note that it is an intended behavior of the MobileAds SDK.

This message is in relation to case "ref:!00D1U01174p.!5004Q02tJ0oy:ref" (ADR-00235467)

Thanks,

Hi, thanks for your quick response.

I just wanted to clarify and confirm again this is the intended behavior.
By accidental click, what I meant was a situation like the user is scrolling without clicking on the ad, but the ad behaves as if it were clicked. Is the expected behavior still registering a click on the ad and executing the corresponding click action (opening Safari, opening the App Store, etc.) in this situation?

Hi,

It depends upon the ad type some ads are configured in such a way that it navigates to the source immediately on user touch only and some of them on perform click. As you've mentioned that on scrolling user is navigating to browser because some how they touched the ads section due to this touch start action called through webview and performed the action.

There is no change required through SDK to stop or ignore this ad behvior.
Thanks

Hi, thank you for clarifying the intended behavior.

I have a couple more questions
1. Which type of ad immediately goes to the source only on user touch?
2. Is it possible to suppress this kind of ads through Google Ads Manager console?
3. Is there an attribute that allows us to programmatically tell the ad to touch and then suppress the touch on our end?
4. Does the same behavior occur on Android? we haven't heard any reports of this happening on Android, so we were wondering why it only happens on iOS.

Thanks!

Hello,

Could you please direct me to the document that explains how to configure an ad to open with the touch start action?

Thank you for your help.
