How long should I wait for the new admob mediation settings to kick in?

Hi,

My app just went live on the iTunes App Store. I've set up Admob mediation with iAds, Admob and House ads.

I only see Admob ads - I don't see any iAd or House ads. I changed the admob mediation settings to disable Admob, and show only iAds and House Ads. However, it is still showing Admob ads (worse still, a "Click here to view your arrest record" ad!! I've also setup the block ads to block all sensitive ads - I'm not sure what category this particular ad belongs to, but that is another issue!)

I was wondering if it took some time before the Admob mediation settings kicked in and were respected. I've waited a half hour or so.

Thanks,
Sridhar

An update - I see iADs now - I just had to wait for more time for the iADs to start showing up (about 2-3 days after my app was approved for the App Store!!). House Ads on the other hand still do not show up.

I checked the Ad Mediation report, and added the Mediation Ad Source and Mediation Allocation as a dimension to the report, and see that the House Ads have been requested over 3000 times, but 0 (zero) impressions. I don't know if it is a problem with import, because the House Ads were imported from Legacy Admob.

Added to that, I also see the problem that any updates to mediation cannot be saved, that others are also experiencing.

We've been experiencing about a 45 minute processing time to see changes (new campaigns or image ads) flow through the new AdMob portal.   We use all house ads not mediated though.

You mentioned that you disabled AdMob.  How did you do that?  In the new AdMob system it is not possible to turn off AdMob as a network.

After adding the new networks did you go back and click "enable" then save?  Did you set the eCPM for each network?  These steps must be completed before your changes are active.  (It is not at all intuitive and I have trouble remembering this process flow each time I put in something new.)

The mediation list is normally cached for a bout 5 minutes. So you shouldn't need to wait more than that before you see any mediation changes take effect.

How do you know the ads you are seeing are from Adob and not iAds?

For what it's worth, I wouldn't consider an ad "Click here to view your arrest record" as being in any way sensitive. I know what my arrest record is like, it's pretty boring.

Thanks for your reply!

I can distinguish adMob ads from iAd ads by the following:

1) Admob Ads have a little info button on the left hand side that expands and says "Ads by Google"
2) iAd ads have a little iAd sign on the right hand side, under a page "curl-up" graphic.

Also, I found that I can get the details of the mediation sources by adding the dimension of "Mediation allocation" to my "Ad mediation report" table. As for iAds not showing up, the problem was at Apple's end - I just had to wait longer before they started serving ads to my new app.

I  see that House Ads are still not being served. From the mediation allocation report, I saw over 3000 House Ad requests, but zero impressions. That is the case even today:

Hi Sridhar,

I have the same problem.
Do you have any solution?

Look that:

184 requests, but 0 impressions.

Any help will be appreciated.

Regards,

Flavio
