Thank you for your continued detailed support.
I would like to consult with you regarding a point about the expanded display of collapsible banner advertisements.
Currently, we have confirmed that occasionally, even when an expanded advertisement is requested, it sometimes fails to display. From the perspective of UI/UX consistency (for example, wanting to always display expanded advertisements when a certain screen is shown), we are considering whether it would be possible to "request the expanded advertisement again." Could you please advise on this approach, taking into account the following points:
We would like to implement this in a way that provides users with a natural experience while complying with policies. I apologize for taking up your valuable time, but would greatly appreciate your advice.
Thank you for your continued support.
Best regards,
K Shota
Hi,
Thanks for contacting the Mobile ads SDK Support team.
Kindly find the below responses to your queries:
1). We don't recommend requesting a collapsible banner for every anchored adaptive banner, as this may be disruptive to the user experience and subsequent ad refreshes for the same slot will not return collapsible banner ads.
2.) We recommend a moderate refresh rate (180 seconds or greater) for collapsible banner ads. Spacing out the ads optimizes for revenue and the best user experience. To avoid showing these ads too frequently, the refresh rate must be no less than 30 seconds.
3). Yes, re-request collapsible banner ads could create disadvantages from the ads quality and policy compliance.

Hi Team,
Thank you very much for your continued support and the helpful explanation.
We would like to ask a follow-up question regarding collapsible banner behavior.
Specifically, in cases where an expanded ad is not displayed — not just on the initial request but also after a refresh — would it be a valid approach to recreate the banner view entirely and then issue a new ad request, rather than refreshing the existing one?
We’re considering this as a potential way to maintain a consistent UI/UX, but would appreciate your guidance on whether such handling is acceptable from a technical and policy standpoint.
Looking forward to your advice, and thank you again for your continued support.
Best regards,
K ShotaHi K Shota,
Thank you for getting back to us.
If you configured your ad unit to refresh, you don't need to request another ad when the ad fails to load. The Google Mobile Ads SDK respects any refresh rate you specified in the AdMob UI. If you haven't enabled refresh, then issue a new request. Collapsible banners follow the same policies as regular banners. Their usage should adhere to all Google Publisher Policies.
