Crash when running app after banner ad integration

Hey, I have integrated the banner add to my app following the guide on the website but there seems to be a issue with my app now, whenever I run the app builds but crashes on launch with the follow message appearing in the console -

Any one have any ideas what would course this or what I have done wrong? App ran fine before I did the pod install and Imported googleMobileAds

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us and providing the error logs captured.

Looking at the error logs captured, it seems like you are using an ADBannerView class instead of the GADBannerView in your Storyboard editor. Could you double check and make sure you are using GADBannerView for loading your Banner Ads? You may also test your Ad Unit id with our sample app and see if you can reproduce the same error.

It seems this is related to the fact that Google Closed the inheritance from DFPBannerView.

I'm not a big fan of it myself as I have a custom banner view which now I have to add the DFPBannerView as a composite piece. Not a huge deal but it broke a lot of the legacy code in our app.

Hi everyone,

Just to clarify, the error message seems to indicate that Luke was using an unknown class ADBannerView in Interface Builder file which is most likely the reason for the crash. Also, the error message indicates that the setAdUnitID method being accessed is not recognized in the object used. Using either the DFPBannerView nor the GADBannerView should not trigger this crash.

That said, @djac...@whisper.sh, could you create a new thread and elaborate more on your issue when using the DFPBannerView?
