Issue with UMP SDK Consent Status Responses for "Do Not Sell My Data"

Dear Google Mobile Ads SDK Support Team,

I am writing to seek assistance regarding the implementation of the User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK in my application, specifically concerning the consent status responses related to the "Do Not Sell My Data" feature.

Implementation Overview:

• Personalized Ads Consent Form: The UMP SDK correctly returns the following consent statuses as users log in:

  • NotRequired

  • Required

  • Obtained

  • Notably, the Unknown status is never encountered.

• "Do Not Sell My Data" Feature: The UMP SDK returns:

  • NotRequired

  • Required

  • However, the Unknown and Obtained statuses are never received.

Issue Details:

While the consent statuses for the Personalized Ads Consent Form function as expected, the absence of Unknown and Obtained statuses for the "Do Not Sell My Data" feature raises concerns about accurately tracking and managing user consent preferences.

Request for Assistance:

I would appreciate your guidance on the following:

1. Expected Behavior: Is it standard for the UMP SDK to exclude Unknown and Obtained statuses in the context of the "Do Not Sell My Data" feature?

2. Implementation Verification: Could you provide insights or documentation to ensure that my implementation aligns with best practices for capturing all relevant consent statuses?

Ideally consent status values should return like below: 

• Unknown
• Required
• Not required
• Obtained 

May I know which region you are checking for so that we can check the  standard UMP SDK consent status values in the context of the "Do Not Sell My Data" feature.

Yes, I can see all the mentioned consent status values including Unknown and Obtained for regulatedUSState (US) region. Can you please confirm if the reported issue is replicating in our Google samples? If yes, kindly share us with the sample project that reproduces the issue for further investigation.
