I'm receiving an error when attempting to request a consent info update in both a physical device and the iOS Simulator (Google Mobile Ads SDK 7.58.0, PersonalizedAdConsent 1.0.5).

I'm following the steps outlined here: https://developers.google.com/admob/ios/eu-consent#testing (both setting up ads under the "getting started" as well as the EU-consent SDK instructions).

Despite having a Google AdMob account set up and a valid publisher ID, I get the following error when attempting to set the region to EEA:

Error Domain=Consent Code=1 "Response error. Publisher identifiers not found: ca-app-pub-[my pub id here]" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Response error. Publisher identifiers not found: ca-app-pub-[my pub id here]}

This appears almost identical to the issue described here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/58785427/getting-error-of-publisher-identifiers-not-found-when-i-enable-debuggeography that links to https://groups.google.com/d/msg/google-admob-ads-sdk/MEDiuHqIpYM/rYSsTDlAAAAJwhich appears to be several months old.

Is there a known workaround for this or something that might be causing it that could be changed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

Thank you for bringing this up. Via "Reply privately to author" could you provide a sample project with your publisher id and steps to replicate this issue? In that post you mentioned it suggests to try a VPN based in Europe and see if it works, but we cannot provide support if it doesn't.

Hi Alexander,

I tested your setup with an iPhone and an iPhone se simulator and I added the idfa to the iPhone and here are the findings:
  • Google's test publisher id and my publisher Id come out "IN EU"
  • Your publisher Id has the "Publisher identifiers not found" error that you mentioned before.
It is possible that your account isn't set up enough for the consent SDK to work. I set one up for testing purposes and it's not fully set up - it has a billing system but not eligible to be paid and it was enough that my publisher Id works in consent debug. Please confirm how far you got in setting up your account.

Aryeh,

I have not yet added payment info to account - was hoping to test with the "test ads" beforehand that Google provides.

I'll do this and see if that changes things.

Thank you,

Alexander

Aryeh,

This (account being fully activated with payment, etc.) fixes things - thanks a ton for your help.
