AdMob policy regarding banner ad above background image

Considering AdMob's policies regarding ads that overlap content, are there any concerns allowing a full-screen background image to extend behind the area where the banner ad will be placed?

Specifically:

We are reserving an area at the bottom of the screen where banner ads will appear, with some padding to ensure no controls or content are ever placed near the ad. The activity has a background image that fills the whole screen, with a gradient scrim darkening the image near the bottom where it extends behind the ad.

(I could not find any mention of this in the AdMob policies and guidelines.)

Would a full-screen background image be considered "content" that shouldn't be overlapped?

Hi Joshua,

Thanks - but I've already pored over those articles, and they do not address this specific case. I also could not find any means of contact at the Product Support Team page other than the link to this discussion group. I've even done site: searches through AdMob's domain looking for occurrences of "background" and "email" and "contact" but have found no way to get clarification about this.

Is there some contact form or email I can direct my question to in order to get clarification on policy matters?

As previously mentioned, we only handle concerns related to the Mobile Ads SDK on this forum and we are not able to comment on our policies.

If you were not able to see the form I previously linked, or the other forms found by using the Contact Us button on the upper-right hand side of the AdMob Help Center, then it might mean that you are under the specific bracket of publishers earning less than 25$ a week, as described in this blog post.

If this is applicable to you, then you can use the articles found on the AdMob Help Center (such as the previously mentioned articles) for further guidance regarding your concern.

Hi Joshua,

Well that explains the mystery of why responses here keep posting that link like it would actually be helpful. That page really should indicate that questions are reserved for people with qualifying accounts.

Although I don't personally qualify on this account, this actually applies to a development tool being used by thousands of app developers. We do have a qualifying account, so I will get someone else to ask AdMob this question on my behalf.
