Hello,
I am currently operating several mobile apps that use AdMob, and my AdMob account is functioning normally. Since I do not run any websites or blogs, I do not use AdSense, and my AdSense site submissions remain unapproved.

However, I do not intend to use AdSense at all.

I would like to kindly confirm whether having an unapproved or unused AdSense account has any impact on the status, eligibility, or monetization of my AdMob account.
In short, is it completely safe to operate AdMob without using AdSense?

Thank you very much for your time and assistance.
I appreciate your clarification.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting the Mobile Ads SDK Support team

Kindly note that our support channel can only best assist you with regards to Google Mobile Ads SDK implementation and technical issues.

Yes, it is completely safe to use AdMob without using AdSense.

An unapproved or unused AdSense (website) account does not affect your AdMob eligibility, status, or monetization. AdMob works independently for mobile apps. Just make sure your apps follow AdMob policies and restrictions to avoid any issues.

Thanks,

Short answer: Yes, it is completely safe to operate AdMob without using AdSense, and an unapproved AdSense site does not harm your AdMob account.

Here is the detailed explanation:

1. AdMob and AdSense Are Separate Products

  • AdMob is for monetizing mobile apps.

  • AdSense is for monetizing websites.

Both belong to Google’s publisher ecosystem, but they operate independently.

2. Having an Unapproved or Unused AdSense Account Does Not Affect AdMob

Google does not penalize you in AdMob for:

  • having an AdSense account with no approved sites,

  • having site applications rejected in AdSense,

  • simply not using AdSense at all.

You can safely ignore AdSense if you do not run websites.

3. Your AdMob Payments Are Not Blocked by AdSense Site Approval

Both AdMob and AdSense use the same Google payments profile, but:

  • You do not need to have an approved AdSense site to receive AdMob income.

  • You only need to complete the payment setup (identity verification, tax info, payment method), which you likely already did since AdMob is functioning normally.

4. Many Developers Use Only AdMob

This is very common. Lots of app developers:

  • use AdMob exclusively,

  • have no websites,

  • leave AdSense unused (sometimes showing “unapproved” because no site is submitted).

This is considered normal and does not cause any issues.

✅ Conclusion

Operating AdMob without using AdSense is completely safe.
Your unapproved or unused AdSense site submission has no negative impact on:

  • AdMob account status

  • eligibility

  • monetization

  • payments

You can continue using AdMob without concern.
